How to choose the right foundation for oily skin?

When you have oily skin, it’s essential to use a foundation that will help to control the oil and keep your skin looking matte. Here are some tips on how to choose the right foundation for oily skin:

  1. Choose a foundation that is labeled “oil-free” or “matte.”
  2. Avoid foundations that are labeled “dewy” or “hydrating.”
  3. Choose a foundation that is light to medium coverage. Heavy coverage foundations will only make your skin appear more oily.
  4. Opt for a foundation in a powder, liquid, or mousse formula. Stick foundations are not a good choice for oily skin.
  5. Apply your foundation with a sponge or brush. Fingers should be avoided, as they will only add more oil to your skin.
  6. The best foundations for oily skin:

Matte foundations

Matte foundations are a good option for oily skin because they help to control the oiliness. In addition, they typically have a light, airy texture that doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin.

There are a lot of different matte foundations on the market, so you should be able to find one that matches your skin type and skin tone.

Liquid foundations

Liquid foundations are another perfect fit for oily skin. They have a light, creamy texture that blends easily into the skin.

Liquid foundations also come in various formulas, so you can find one that fits your needs. For example, there are matte liquid foundations, dewy liquid foundations, and everything in between.

Powder foundations

Powder foundations are a good option for oily skin because they help to absorb the oil and keep your skin looking matte. They come in a variety of formulas, including matte, dewy, and radiant. Select the best one after proper research and experimenting with a few.

Most foundations can make your skin worse, but these five won’t:

I’ve tried a lot of different foundations, and I’ve found a few that work really well for me. So here, I’m sharing a few that can stay in place throughout the day without breaking down because of the oil underneath.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation

This foundation creates a nice balance between a dewy and matte finish without making your skin look oily.

This full-coverage, transfer-proof, and high-performance foundation helps control shine by keeping oil and keeping oil bay all day.

Described as ‘lifeproof’ by Huda Beauty, this foundation water-proof and long-wear formula withstands the usual oily T-zone.

Smashbox Studio Skin 24-Hour Hydra Foundation

This foundation is long-wearing and hydrating, which is perfect for oily skin. In addition, its oil-free formula stays put for 24 hours.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup

Lightweight, matte finish and 24-hour staying power make it great for oily skin. It covers imperfections and makes your skin look flawless through heat and humidity with buildable coverage.

How to mattify oily skin with foundation?

The first step is to find a foundation that is specifically designed for oily skin. There are a lot of different foundations out there that are marketed for oily skin, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one that suits your needs. I’ve found that liquid foundations work best for me, but you might prefer a powder foundation.

The next step is to mattify your skin. This can be done with a primer or using a setting powder. I usually use a primer because it helps to keep my makeup in place all day. I’ve tried a lot of different primers, and I’ve found that the best one for me is Maybelline BABY SKIN Instant Pore Eraser I purchased from glowqueen.pk at quite an affordable price.

Once you’ve mattified your skin, it’s time to apply the foundation. I usually use a brush to apply my foundation, but you can use a sponge if you prefer. Start by applying the foundation to the center of your face, and then blend it outwards. Be sure to blend it into your hairline and jawline so that there aren’t any lines or streaks.

The last step is to set your foundation with a powder. I usually use translucent powder because it doesn’t add any color to my skin. However, I’ve found that the best powder for me is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. Apply the powder to your T-zone, and then blend it well.

Moving ahead, let me share tips for oily skincare that work to control facial oil

  1. Start by cleansing your face with a gentle, oil-free cleanser.
  2. Tone your skin with an alcohol-free toner.
  3. Apply a light, oil-free moisturizer.
  4. If you need more coverage, use an oil-free foundation.
  5. Set your makeup with an oil-free powder.
  6. Blot away excess oil with oil-absorbing sheets or a blotting powder throughout the day.

I hope this basic guide will help you select and use the best foundation for oily skin and give you a flawless makeover.
